Concept Promotion is a vital element in the robotics competition. Concept promotion is the promotion of the concept of B.E.S.T. robotics. One way this is done is through speeches that are delivered by the team members. The speeches are given at places such as schools, church youth groups, fairs, and festivals. The I-Team has promoted B.E.S.T. by mentoring a local high school as well as visiting a few home school groups. We helped a Boy Scout group get their Robotics badge, spoke at Denison Fall Fest, and gave repeated presentations during a fundraising sale we held in the community. These speeches are sometimes aided by slide-shows and demonstrations given by Lucy, our robot from a previous year. Publicity from media is another way concept promotion is done. Newspaper articles are a way teams can get publicity. Interviews are a great way to do concept promotion. We also put notification in a local radio station. We even got the concept promoted on the local area Boy Scout Facebook page.
